Debbie Simon

Debbie is one of the most acclaimed speech coaches in America. Both the Massachusetts Speech and Debate League and the National Speech and Debate Association have voted her into the Coaches’ Hall of Fame. In 2016, the NSDA chose her as Middle School Coach of the year. And in 2017, the Speech Communication Association of America chose Debbie as Co-Teacher of the Year. These awards have come because of her extraordinary work at Milton Academy. As a Milton Academy Upper School and Middle School Speech Team coach, Debbie guided individual students to local, state, district, and national championships. Debbie is also highly regarded as a premier educator and wonderful human being. Debbie has taught English, Class IV grammar, Oral Interpretation in the Arts Program, and a host of Performing Arts courses in the classroom. Debbie most powerfully directed over fifty plays at Milton in the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools. These facts about Debbie’s career are amazing, but they only suggest the special personal story.
