Randy Cox

Randy Cox has been involved in forensics for over 4 decades. A former national champion for the University of Texas at Austin, he served as a coach & co-director there from 1991-94, and then as the director of Texas Speech from 2003 until his retirement in 2024. Between 1994-1999 he served as the co-director of forensics at Milton Academy alongside his colleague and dear friend Debbie Simon. He was one of the founders of the UT National Institute in Forensics, and has been involved in speech education at the middle school, high school, and collegiate levels. His students have been graced with over 100 individual national championships at all levels, and have been recognized as the collegiate national team champions in four different decades. He is also the past-president of the Texas Speech Communication Association, the Massachusetts Forensic League, and the Texas Intercollegiate Forensics Association.
